The pair took the train to Marks Tey, to discuss the key issues, with Mr Cartlidge calling for a business case to be made to see investment in the branch. “There are a range of things, some are ambitious and some are more realistic,” said Mr Cartlidge.

Election 2015: Conservatives strong in Suffolk with David Cameron on course for slender majority 7th May 2015 The Tories have maintained their hold on Suffolk, increasing majorities in constituencies such as Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and South Suffolk. Reflecting what was very a strong night for the party, seats across Suffolk and north Essex remained in Conservative hands. Sir Bob Russell’s Colchester seat was one of the many Liberal Democrats to disappear under a tide of blue and although Douglas Carswell held Clacton for UKIP, his majority was sizably reduced.
Conservatives stay in power in South Suffolk as James Cartlidge is named as new MP 7th May 2015 Mr Cartlidge replaces the outgoing Tim Yeo who was deselected in February last year by South Suffolk Conservative Association members. Mr Cartlidge secured 27,549 votes to win ahead of Labour’s Jane Basham who secured 10,001 votes. After the vote was announced Mr Cartlidge thanked his team for their support and vowed to work hard for his constituents.
