James Cartlidge, newly-elected MP for South Suffolk, has announced that he will be hosting local producers and retailers for a South Suffolk Food Event in the Houses of Parliament on Thursday 19th November.
Mr Cartlidge has confirmed that among those businesses who will be exhibiting are Jimmy’s Farm, Suffolk Food Hall, Hadleigh Maid and Gifford’s Hall Vineyard. He also revealed that Liz Truss MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, has confirmed that she will be stopping by to meet exhibitors.
When he announced the event James said “I’m delighted to have this opportunity to show off the best of what South Suffolk is producing. To be able to host these brilliant local companies in Parliament and to bring them to the attention of my colleagues is a real treat.”
Similar events in the past have proven hugely popular with MPs and their staff, and Mr Cartlidge is sure that the South Suffolk showcase will be no different. Mr Cartlidge added “South Suffolk is full of hidden gems, and I’m proud to be able to provide a platform to celebrate the great food and drink producers in my constituency.”
